Hot showers etc
57 riders took part in last Sundays reliability trials in cold, wet and windy conditions, inc the organiser who rode the 58 mile route in the Silver group.
The course took in part of the Stinger roads, going over Abberley Hill and out past Tenbury Wells before a loop via Leominster, some more climbing over Leysters, then retracing from Tenbury. By that point the water and spray had seeped inside my overshoes and my feet were wet and cold, in fact numb when the climb of Stockton Bank came up. All I could think of was getting back to the finish HQ at Stourport Sports Club, having a hot shower, and enjoying the inclusive hot drink and chocolate muffin which was part of the £3 entry. The HQ with it's free parking and modern facilities comes into its own when we put on events, whether it';s on the new closed circuit, the annual reliability trials, or the Stinger cyclo-sportives. We've moved from July to May 8th and seemed to have reduced the many date clashes with the former, with entries coming in steadily, and there is optimism that we will see another increase in the number of participants for 2011.
